1. Context Library 소개

Context Library는 사용자가 YouTube 영상에서 직접 실행한 Copy 또는 Save 기능을 통해 transcript를 처리하고, 저장한 Context를 Library별로 정리할 수 있도록 돕는 Chrome Extension입니다. 별도의 회원가입은 없으며, 이름, 이메일 주소, 전화번호, 사용자 계정 등 사용자를 직접 식별하기 위한 정보를 요청하거나 수집하지 않습니다.

2. 처리하는 데이터

사용자가 YouTube 영상에서 Copy 또는 Save를 명시적으로 실행할 때에만 기능 수행에 필요한 transcript와 관련 정보를 처리합니다.

• Copy: transcript를 클립보드에 복사하기 위해 처리합니다. Copy만으로 Context Library IndexedDB에 Context가 저장되지는 않습니다.
• Save: YouTube video URL, video ID, video title, channel/author, thumbnail URL, transcript, transcript timestamps, 언어·자동 생성 여부 등의 transcript metadata, 저장 시각 및 필요한 metadata가 로컬에 저장될 수 있습니다.
• 사용자 생성 정보: Library name, Library description 또는 research purpose, 그리고 Library 생성·관리 과정에 필요한 metadata가 저장될 수 있습니다.

3. 처리 목적

처리한 데이터는 사용자가 선택한 transcript를 복사하거나 저장하고, Inbox 및 Library에서 정리·이동·선택·삭제하고, Markdown으로 복사·다운로드·export하는 기능을 제공하기 위해서만 사용됩니다.

4. 데이터 저장 위치

모든 Context Library 데이터는 사용자의 Chrome Extension origin IndexedDB에 로컬 저장됩니다. 현재 버전에는 개발자 서버 저장, 별도 backend 또는 cloud sync가 없습니다.

5. 외부 전송 및 제3자 제공

Context transcript, Library name, Library description 및 기타 저장 데이터는 외부 LLM/AI API로 전송되지 않으며, 제3자에게 제공하거나 판매하지 않습니다. 현재 버전에는 analytics, 광고 SDK, 사용자 profiling도 없습니다.

6. 데이터 보관 및 삭제

사용자는 Context를 직접 삭제할 수 있고, Library를 생성·수정·보관·복원·삭제할 수 있습니다. 보관된 Library를 삭제하면 해당 Library의 Context는 Inbox로 이동합니다. 확장 프로그램을 제거하면 extension origin의 로컬 데이터도 함께 제거됩니다. 개발자 서버에 별도 복사본이 없으므로 개발자가 보관하는 서버 데이터도 없습니다.

7. 보안 및 접근

데이터는 사용자의 브라우저 내 extension origin 저장소에 보관됩니다. 개발자가 저장된 Context 데이터를 원격으로 열람할 수 있는 구조는 없습니다.

8. 외부 리소스

저장된 YouTube thumbnail을 표시하기 위해 YouTube 또는 관련 Google 이미지 서버에 일반적인 이미지 요청이 발생할 수 있습니다. 이 요청에 Context transcript, Library name 또는 Library description을 추가하여 전송하지 않습니다.

9. Chrome Web Store 정책 관련 데이터 이용 원칙

Context Library는 일반적인 browsing history를 수집하거나 사용자를 지속적으로 추적하지 않습니다. Chrome History API를 사용하지 않습니다. 사용자가 Copy 또는 Save를 실행한 YouTube 영상의 URL과 콘텐츠만 해당 기능 수행에 필요한 범위에서 처리합니다.

Context Library Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 7, 2026

1. About Context Library

Context Library is a Chrome Extension that processes transcripts when you explicitly use Copy or Save on a YouTube video and helps you organize saved Context items into Libraries. There is no account registration. Context Library does not request or collect information intended to directly identify you, such as your name, email address, phone number, or user account.

2. Data processed

Context Library processes a transcript and related information only when you explicitly run Copy or Save on a YouTube video.

• Copy: The transcript is processed to copy it to your clipboard. Copy does not save a Context item to Context Library IndexedDB.
• Save: The extension may store the YouTube video URL, video ID, video title, channel/author, thumbnail URL, transcript, transcript timestamps, transcript metadata such as language and whether it is auto-generated, saved time, and necessary metadata locally.
• Information you create: This may include Library names, Library descriptions or research purposes, and metadata needed to create and manage Libraries.

3. Purpose of processing

This data is used only to provide the features you choose: copying or saving transcripts; organizing, moving, selecting, and deleting items in the Inbox and Libraries; and copying, downloading, or exporting Markdown.

4. Where data is stored

All Context Library data is stored locally in IndexedDB under your Chrome Extension origin. The current version has no developer-server storage, separate backend, or cloud sync.

5. External transfers and third parties

Context transcripts, Library names, Library descriptions, and other saved data are not sent to external LLM or AI APIs, provided to third parties, or sold. The current version has no analytics, advertising SDKs, or user profiling.

6. Retention and deletion

You can delete Context items directly and create, edit, archive, restore, and delete Libraries. When an archived Library is deleted, its Context items are moved to the Inbox. Removing the extension also removes local data stored for its extension origin. Because there is no developer server copy, there is no server data retained by the developer.

7. Security and access

Data is kept in your browser's extension-origin storage. The developer has no mechanism to remotely view your saved Context data.

8. External resources

Displaying a saved YouTube thumbnail may make a standard image request to YouTube or a related Google image server. That request does not include your Context transcript, Library name, or Library description.

9. Chrome Web Store data-use principles

Context Library does not collect general browsing history or continuously track you. It does not use the Chrome History API. It processes only the URL and content of YouTube videos on which you explicitly run Copy or Save, and only to the extent needed to provide that feature.

We may update this page and its effective date if features or data practices change.
